Dale Chihuly
http://www.chihuly.com/glass.html
Dale Chihuly’s work is simply amazing. My favorite art he does is his glass art, which is very bright, colorful, neon looking. His work is complex, multipart pieces of sculpture that can vary in sizes of small hand-szed objects to huge, gigantic up to 10 stories high. his work has won numerous awards and he has been doing this for since the 1960s. I couldnt focus just on one piece of art, because they all catch my eye. see for yourself and check out the site!
Wizard and Glass

Dave McKean is an awesome graphic designer, illustrator, photographer, comic book artist, filmmaker, and musician. In his work he incorporates drawing, paining, photography, collage, found objects, digital art, and sculpture. His work is incredible, and inspires me to think more outside of my “box”. The book cover I highlighted is called Wizard and Glass, and it was designed for a Stephen King book. I like the colors, the image, the type treatment... Just about everything about it.

Aftermath
Joel Meyerowitz

Joel Meyerowitz is an award-winning photographer from Ney York, whose work has appeared in over 350 exhibitions in museums and galleries around the world. His images are very powerful and speak for themselves. He is mainly a street Photographer and works exculsively in color. Aftermath caught my eye because it catches the emotion of the event. the photo even has the fog of the rubble in it. its a pretty powerful yet emotional photo.

Fiddlehead bench

Jim Sardonis is a sculptor as well as a jewlery maker based out of Vermont. His inspiration comes from natural forms, such as humans, plants, and animals. The sculpture I chose to highlight is Fiddlehead Bench 2006. I liked this piece for the movement the three Ferns have and also the interaction it has with itself. They make a great centerpiece in any museum, and it is located at the Gentile Hall Physical Education Center.
